Since 2004, our team has always strived to offer the best care to every one of our patients. With Dr. Katie Hones, our lead Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), and the rest of our staff, we are dedicated to caring for your pets no matter the situation. We understand the importance of the health of your pets and we constantly strive to make each and every dog, cat, bird, small mammal, or ranch mammal happy.

We understand the close connection you have with your pets. That is why our team is here; to ease any worries and take good care of every individual animal that walks in our doors. 

Meet the Pack

Dr. Katie Hones

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
As a little girl there wasn't a bum lamb or calf I wasn't trying to nurse back to health. I never had a doubt in my mind that being a veterinarian was my true calling. Those little guys were so important to me, so I truly understand how blessed I was with the opportunity to attend veterinary school at Kansas State University after attending to University of Wyoming for an undergraduate degree.

I am very fortune to have been welcomed home by many wonderful clients and patients here in Rawlins, Wyoming since 2004, after working in Laramie, Wyoming for four years. My staff and I want to help in anyway we can and are ready to listen and be there for your beloved pets.

Outside of my practice, I have been blessed with two beautiful sons and a wonderful other half, Steve Nott, who supports me daily. It really is a labor of love and a family business, so please come see us!

Koleen Scott

Veterinary Technician
Koleen joined the Hones Veterinary staff as a Veterinary Technician in February of 2020. She was raised in Wyoming and enjoys hunting, fishing, and camping! She also does glass work, such as stained glass and glass fusing. Koleen graduated from Riverton High School in 2016, and then went to Eastern Wyoming College where she graduated with an Associates of Applied Sciences, Veterinary Technology in 2018. Koleen and her husband have 3 dogs; Copper, Ava, and Beckett.

Amanda Porter

Veterinary Technician
Amanda joined the Hones Veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician in October of 2022. She was born and raised in Wyoming and enjoys hiking, hanging out in the mountains, running half marathons with her husband, and spending time with friends and family. She and her husband have 4 children and 2 dogs. Amanda graduated from Rawlins High School in 2005, and is pursuing her Veterinary Technician Associate Degree.

Patty Sheets

Office Manager
Patty joined the Hones Veterinary team in 2019. I was born and raised right here in Rawlins. I graduated from the Rawlins Cooperative High School in 2000. I attended Western Wyoming Community College. I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, razor riding, watching the Denver Broncos and Nuggets, along with the Colorado Rockies.
